A spa and a salon, built around a Moroccan hammam.
GoldCat takes the entire sixth floor of Johnwood Hotel by Bolton in Wuse Zone 5 — a full spa and salon running from the signature hammam to the everyday work of hair, nails and skin. Slow rituals on one side of the floor, regular upkeep on the other. Open until ten, every day.
A whole floor of Johnwood, kept quiet.
The lift opens onto marble. The hammam comes first, with four variations of the ritual — Basic, Traditional, Signature and Turkish — argan oil, ghassoul clay, beldi soap and the kessa glove, used the way they have been used for centuries. Past the hammam, the massage rooms handle the longer work: the signature ninety-minute, hot stone, lymphatic drainage, madero, prenatal and postnatal. The facial beds run the collagen, the acne treatment, the bridal glow, the deep cleanse.
The other half of the floor is the everyday work of the salon. The hair chairs handle sew-ins, microlinks, keratin, the Korean treatment, the silk press and the touch-ups that become weekly. The nail stations run the GoldCat signature pedicure and manicure, BIAB, acrylic and cat-eye gel. A waxing bed for the regulars and a grooming station for the men who come up after work. A jacuzzi for couples afternoons. Doors don’t close until ten.
The small things, included.
A fresh GoldCat robe is folded on the bench when you arrive, and Moroccan mint tea is poured from a silver kettle before and after. Warm towels are handed over without being asked, rose petals appear when the room asks for them, and the lights stay low while the music stays under conversation. Treatments are priced à la carte; the hospitality around them is already in the room.
The booking deposit you leave returns to you as credit on the day of your first treatment — so the only real question left is which hammam.
We open at ten.
